LISENSING
I am operating a small business in my home and am licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. I operate my daycare home in compliance with the provisions of Minnesota Statues that require that I maintain certain records, pass a yearly inspection, meet fire and safety codes and further my education and training in the child care field on an ongoing basis.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Monday through Thursday I am open 24 hours. On Fridays I close at 12:30 a.m.

The hours of child care are subject to change by mutual agreement between parent and myself only. I feel that I am very flexible when it comes to helping each family out when there is a problem. Please do not take it for granted that I will be available every time a problem arises.

Parents need to notify me when there child will not be in attendance on a scheduled day. Payment will still be due for that day.

FEES
Hours from 6 am to 6 pm
Infant up to 24 months: 2.25 per hour
24 months to school age: 2.10 per hour
school age 2.00 per hour

Hours from 6pm to 6am
Infant up to 24 months: 2.50 per hour
24 months to school age: 2.25 per hour
school age 2.10 per hour

The rates listed are guaranteed. This means I am paid whether or not your child is in attendance. Since I am licensed by the State of Minnesota I am limited in the ages and number of children I care for. Guaranteed rates allow you to insure your childs placement in care.

A four week notice will be given for any rate increases.

PAYMENT

If a child stays home due to illness or other reasons, fees for that day are the same as if the child was present.

A 25.00 charge will apply to all NSF checks, and future payments will be made in cash.

Each family will be allowed 1 week of vacation without payment due. This will need to be taken in full weeks with at least 4 weeks notice given. Holidays will be paid if they are during the vacation week.

Payment is due on each Friday for that week of service.

If payment is not received by that date, a late fee of 2.00 per day will be assessed for each day after until payment is received.

Receipts will be given out weekly. Receipts will include guaranteed rate due, and late fees.

Listed below are the holidays and vacation days that child care is not provided on. Fees paid are guaranteed on these holidays and vacation days will be at the same rate as usual.

New Years Eve
New Years Day
Memorial Day
Fourth of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Two Personal Days

Maternity leave rates will be half of fees usually due. If you will be using daycare on a part time basis during your leave, you will be required to pay the full amount due during your leave.

Deposit of the lasts weeks fee must be paid to hold a place when registering your child. This amount is non-refundable and will be used as your last week due when given a 2 weeks notice.

FOOD

I participate in an USDA Food Program. It is my responsibility that the meals and snacks supplied to the children during the day are nutritionally balanced and from each of the basic food groups and meet the requirements set by the Federal Government. If you are interested in more information about the food program, please let me know. Your cooperation may be required in the event of an audit to verify participation.

Infants will be fed on demand or by a schedule set by the provider and parent.

ILLNESS AND MEDICATIONS

Child care cannot be provided for a sick child. Please use the following as a guide for keeping a sick child at home. If a child develops any of these symptoms while in day care you will be notified immediately.

TEMPERATURE OF 100 DEGREES OR MORE
VOMITING OR DIARRHEA IN THE PREVIOUS 8 HOURS
CONTAGIOUS ILLNESS
UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN DAILY ACTIVITIES
ARE NOT GOING TO SCHOOL BECAUSE OF ILLNESS
STREP THROAT (UNTIL MEDICATED FOR 24 HOURS)
PINK EYE
RASH-OTHER THAN A MILD DIAPER OR HEAT RELATED RASH
LICE, ETC

It is the parents responsibility to provide back up childcare in the event that I am ill.

Parents will be contacted if their child becomes ill during the day and will be responsible for making arrangements to have their child picked up within a reasonable amount of time.

I will not administer any medications, sunscreen lotion, insect repellents, lotions, etc, of any kind to a child without the written permissions and instruction from the parent.

All medications need to be in the original container. Ask your pharmacy for a separate labeled bottle to bring to day care.

PROVIDER ILLNESSES AND ABSENCES

In the event that I become ill, parents will be notified at least 1 hour before their scheduled arrival time. (remember that when I call in sick it takes more than 1 phone call)

Reasons for not being able to care for children may be: provider illness, family illness, and emergency situations.

As a basic rule, if I am closed and it is not a holiday, and you have to pay someone else for child care then there is no charge for that day.

TOYS FROM HOME

Children may not bring toys from home to pay with during the day. They may bring a favorite blanket to keep at daycare to be used at naptime only.

It will not be my responsibility for lost or broken toys.

When behavior problems arise, as they generally do with any group of children, your child will be confronted with the issue and we will discuss a more appropriate way to deal with the problem. This discussion will be fair, reasonable, and suited to the age of the child. If this doesnt resolve the problem I will attempt to get the child involved with other children or toys. The last resort will be a time out to allow the child to think about their behavior and how to change it. The child will not be shamed or isolated from sight during time out. Your support of all discipline is important; I will notify you of any problems your child may be having so you can reinforce good behavior at home. If you have any questions regarding the discipline of your child please ask.

I expect that items may be broken or damaged in the normal course of providing child care. However, if the damage done by your child is excessive, deliberate or the result of intentional misuse, you will be expected to pay for the repair or replacement of the item.

ACTIVITIES

Activities are an important part of the child care program. They are not rigidly structured, but rather informally scheduled to meet the needs of the children. Games and crafts are designed to be within the abilities of the child, yet challenge his/her creative talent and imagination. I strive to provide a variety of activities for the children such as story time, arts and crafts, puzzles, free play, outdoor play, large muscle activities, and quiet time. Some or all of these activities are provided for your child each day. Infants are provided with age appropriate toys: mobiles, music boxes, rattles, etc.

EMERGENCY DRILLS
With consideration to age-appropriateness, children will practice exiting the house safely and learn about fire prevention and safety. The children will also become aware of the designated safe areas: for use during severe weather.

TRIAL PERIOD

The first 2 weeks of care shall be considered the trial period for both parent and provider. Care may be discontinued at any time during this period by either parent or provider.

After the trial period is over a 2 week notice must be given by the parent to provider or by provider to parent if the child care agreement is to be terminated. If no notice is given you are still required to pay for 2 full weeks regardless if you are present or not.

Sometimes the chemistry between children changes or values brought to day care differ too much to make things workable. If this happens and I must terminate care, I will try to give you two weeks to find other care. I feel obligated to abide by this notice only so long as the relationship remains comfortable and respectful. I will not work under stressful conditions, it affects how I work with all the children. I hope this situation never arises, but I want to be clear in what we need to expect from each other.

PROVIDER CONSIDERATIONS

Although I operate my business out of my home, I do expect my clients be considerate in the form of prompt payment, adherence to scheduled pick-up times, keeping a sick child at home, and for my personal household and time.

TEAMWORK

As parents and provider we must work together to ensure that your child has the opportunity to develop to his/her fullest potential in a warm, loving and nurturing environment. It is important that we communicate effectively about your child. I will make it a point to keep you informed about your childs physical, emotional, and social growth, as well as give you any positive and negative feedback related to these areas. Your input on any issue concerning your child is very much appreciated.

AGREEMENT AND SIGNATURES

It is agreed and understood that the terms and conditions of these policies are binding upon the parents and providers signature. Failure to abide by the terms of these policies will be grounds for termination of services and court action for unpaid fees for service.
